We are looking for an experienced Diesel Tech who can accurately inspect, maintain and repair diesel engines. You'll use computer software and your own knowledge of engines to diagnose issues and you'll work with our skilled team of technicians to keep our fleet moving America forward!
Diesel Technician / Mechanic Job Responsibilities :
- Make various adjustments, alignments and repairs to correct any vehicle deficiencies
- Conduct inspections, test drives, and diagnostic tests to determine the condition of our fleet vehicles
- Test engine safety and combustion control standards to comply with federal and state vehicle requirements
- Record service and repairs to maintain accurate vehicle records
- Complete preventative maintenance, install part upgrades, check tires and suspension.
- Follow operating instruction, troubleshoot breakdowns, maintain supplies, perform preventative maintenance and call for repairs to keep shop equipment operational
- Collaborate with coworkers to get repairs done in a timely manner
- Stay up-to-date on industry advances by reading publication s , talking with peers, continuing education and joining industry-related forums
Diesel Technician / Mechanic Job Requirements :
Vocational training in Diesel Mechanics or equivalent experience1-3 years of experience in related fieldProven knowledge of engine componentsStrong communication and customer service skillsASE Certification a plusExperience working on Freightliner, Volvo, Mack and International Trucks, Certification preferredTWIC and CDL License a plusAttention to detailAbility to work with a team
