LINES OF AUTHORITY : This position is supervised by the Billing Supervisor. Unless specifically designated, this position does not supervise any other personnel.

POSITION SUMMARY : This is an entry level position in the billing department. The person is responsible for posting all manual and electronic remittances from health plans and resolve denials for payment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Post all health plans remittances received through mail or electronic means through the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

2. Work all denials for resubmission and payment.

3. Generates superbills for vendor transportation vouchers for billing purposes

4. Assist the Billing Specialists II and III as requested.

5. Provides customer service to internal and external customers and stakeholders.

6. Participates in the Performance Improvement Processes in the Clinic.

7. The employee must work well under pressure meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.

8. The employee shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.

9. Perform other duties, as assigned.

PRIMARY CONTACTS :

• Direct contact with clinical personnel and work groups.
• Daily contact with supervisor.
