Job Summary : The Financial Aid Assistant I provides assistance to parents and students regarding financing educational costs at the University. Supports financial aid in enrollment management initiatives.
Additional Department Summary : This position provides administrative and operational support across financial aid, student employment, scholarships, and loan processing. The employee applies broad institutional and federal aid knowledge when assisting students and parents and reviews all submitted documentation for authenticity, accuracy, and compliance with verification requirements. The role maintains financial aid records by preparing, scanning, indexing, and managing documents within the Hyland OnBase Imaging System and routing them appropriately to Banner and Slate. It also includes conducting initial reviews of loan applications, scholarship materials, and student employment documents to support timely processing. This position contributes to efficient office operations, accurate recordkeeping, and high-quality service to students and families.
Required Minimum Qualifications : High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of administrative experience; OR associate’s degree.
Skills and Knowledge : Basic knowledge in the usage of personal computers and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheet and-or database management programs). Good organizational skills.
