About The Position

Job Title : Physical Therapist

Shift : Monday through Thursday 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM, Friday 8 : 00 AM - 12 : 30 PM

Hours per Shift : 8.5 hours

Experience : Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a hospital setting

License : Must have a valid state physical therapy license

Certifications : Must have BLS certification

Must-Have : Recent experience in outpatient settings

Description : Physical therapists are health care professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages with medical problems or health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in daily life.

PTs examine each individual and develop a treatment plan using techniques to promote mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability.

In addition, PTs work to prevent loss of mobility by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

Physical therapists provide care in various settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, home health agencies, schools, sports facilities, work settings, and nursing homes.

State licensure is required for practice in each state.

The role involves evaluating and conducting medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.

Physical therapists also provide educational information on injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy, and rehabilitation therapy.

They supervise physical therapy assistants and aides in performing treatment.

Weekend coverage for acute care evaluations is occasionally required.
