Job Description

This role involves managing projects, overseeing project accounting, and business development within the electrical utility construction sector.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and execute project work plans, adjusting as needed to meet changing requirements.
  • Identify resource needs based on project assignments.
  • Manage schedules, costs, and customer demands.
  • Review team deliverables before submission to clients or management.
  • Apply project management methodologies to execute schedules effectively.
  • Develop and implement risk management plans to minimize exposure and risks.
  • Ensure project documentation is accurate, complete, and properly stored.
  • Support crews by removing roadblocks.

Project Accounting

  • Track and analyze costs, labor hours, and expenses using Excel; generate reports.
  • Manage project budgets and revenue recognition.
  • Ensure timely invoicing and monitor receivables.
  • Follow up on unpaid invoices with clients.
  • Analyze project profitability, revenue, margins, and utilization.
  • Business Development

  • Identify opportunities for new business and add-on sales related to projects.
  • Participate in proposal development, including scoping and estimating.
  • Communicate effectively in business development discussions.
  • Minimum Requirements

  • 4-year degree or equivalent industry experience; engineering or construction management preferred.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software; knowledge of Primavera and Monday.com is desirable.
  • Experience in electric utility construction is a plus.
  • Formal project management training, PMP certification is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of revenue models, P / L, and cost projections.
  • Client management experience.
  • Attention to detail, results-oriented, and motivated.
  • Efficient planning and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Accurate and fast data entry skills.
