Locum Tenens Stroke Neurologist Needed near Shelby, NC (j-235359)

Are you a dedicated Stroke Neurologist seeking a locum tenens opportunity to provide high-quality care for patients in a dynamic healthcare setting near Shelby, NC?

We are actively expanding our team and seeking qualified physicians to join our Stroke Program. This locum tenens position offers the flexibility of a day shift schedule, allowing you to contribute your expertise while maintaining control over your work hours.

  • Comprehensive Support System : Collaborate with a dedicated team, including a mid-level provider (NP / PA), an additional inpatient Neurologist, a stroke manager, stroke coordinators, and a full nursing staff across ICU, step-down, and med-surg units, ensuring optimal patient care delivery.
  • Streamlined Workflow : Utilize the Cerner electronic medical record system for efficient documentation and streamlined care coordination.
  • Focused on Stroke Care : Apply your specialized expertise in stroke management, conducting consultations and rounds for patients across ICU, step-down, and med-surg units.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide inpatient stroke care for a variety of patients across ICU, step-down, and med-surg units, collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Conduct consultations (4-5 per shift) and participate in rounds (10-15, some with mid-level provider) to ensure timely and effective stroke management.
  • Leverage your expertise to guide treatment decisions and collaborate with the stroke team to deliver exceptional care.
  • Maintain a high standard of patient care and communication, adhering to all medical best practices.
  • Key Qualifications :

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree required
  • Active medical license in the state of North Carolina
  • Board certification in Neurology with subspecialty certification in Vascular Neurology (preferred) or significant experience in stroke care
  • Experience working in an inpatient setting
  • Additional Information :

  • No EEG readings required.
  • Residents will not be assigned to this locum tenens position.
  • We are seeking at least two additional providers to join our team.
