Responsibilities Work in a Level III NICU within a hospital setting Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts per week from 18 : 45 to 07 : 15 Care for neonatal ICU patients with patient ratios of 1 : 2-3 Float required to normal newborn nursery (NOU) with ratios of 1 : 4-6 when needed Delivery attendance required for both vaginal and C-section births Expected to work every other weekend Required to cover at least one major and one minor holiday Self-scheduling available Uses Epic EMR and Epic experience is mandatory Responsible for the admission, care coordination, and discharge of neonates in the NICU and NOU Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including NNPs, MDs, RNs, social services, respiratory therapy, radiology, occupational therapy, and others Educate and update parents, and assist new mothers with breastfeeding Required to wear grape or purple scrubs Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates within this radius will be considered at a local pay rate Any previous permanent employee at an LCMC facility must be separated for a minimum of one year to be eligible Modules must be completed prior to start and are managed by the facility’s education department Requirements Active LA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 3 years of Level III NICU nursing experience required Current BLS and NRP certifications required Epic charting experience required Strong neonatal IV placement and lab draw skills required Experience managing ventilators and central lines required Ability to attend and assist at deliveries required Must have experience in administration of various medications and use of blood products Assisting with procedures such as chest tube, PICC, UAC / UVC, x-rays, CBG / ABGs, ultrasounds, intubation, nitric oxide, and exchange transfusions No first-time travelers will be considered for this position Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-606835.
