Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical / Telemetry Specialty

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 00).

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry care, including pediatric experience. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in a 26-bed unit with 8 dedicated pediatric beds, managing a diverse range of patient diagnoses while ensuring safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to both adult and pediatric patients.
  • Monitor patient conditions and manage telemetry systems as necessary.
  • Administer medications and blood products, ensuring adherence to protocols.
  • Manage IV therapy, including starting and maintaining IVs and PICC line management.
  • Conduct assessments and implement care plans based on patient needs.
  • Assist in wound care and management of surgical drains.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical surgical / telemetry setting.
  • Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
  • Proficient with the Epic charting system.
  • Experience managing adult and pediatric patients is a must.
  • Strong skills in IV therapy and central line management preferred.
