About The Position

Description :

This position is responsible for performing remote surveillance for multiple locations, specifically focusing on cardio-pulmonary rhythms via a central monitoring station.

The technician will recognize, record, and report potentially dangerous rhythm changes and arrhythmias following established standards and protocols.

Work is primarily performed in a centralized monitoring unit under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Each technician can monitor up to 60 patients due to advanced technology capabilities.

Accurate recognition of cardiac rhythms is essential, as is following command center policies.

The incumbent must take appropriate action and follow established protocols in notifying on-site nursing staff of changes in cardiac rhythm and arrhythmias.

Proper communication channels must be followed for routine and emergency situations.

It is important to strive for improved patient outcomes and department metrics.

Supervisors are available for support, including Charge Nurses and House Supervisors.

Monitoring equipment includes advanced technology tools.

Shifts are 12 hours long, with varying schedules that include weekends and holidays as needed.

Weekend shifts require a minimum of 4 shifts during a given schedule period.

The technician may have opportunities to cross-train for other supportive roles.

Dress code is business casual.

Specific orientation will be provided based on the unit and department.

The hospital may cancel a limited number of shifts during assignments if necessary.

Charting systems used include EPIC or CERNER.
