THE OPPORTUNITY :

The Materials Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing purchased parts and equipment to other workers in production and maintenance, and keeping records of same.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Receives all purchased parts and after inspection either stores or distributes all material to the proper locations. With the Site Materials Supervisor, verifies part numbers and quantities (noting all discrepancies) against packing slips and submits the same daily.
• Pull and ship converters as needed for UPS and LTL shipments.
• Also pull and issue parts to the lines and a daily basis.
• Notes any damage or shortages on Freight Bills and submits the same daily.
• Maintains production requisition records and submits the same daily to the Materials Manager.
• Notifies the Materials Manager of any suspected shortages in inventory.
• Inventories MRO, safety and tooling supplies weekly and submits reorder sheets to the Materials Manager.
• Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment for production and maintenance. Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issues and returned, manually or using computer.
• Generates material transfers to other locations and prepares goods for shipment. Receives material from other locations and completes material transfers for those transactions and submits the same daily to the Site Materials Manager.
• Issues blank requisition forms, receives completed requisitions and submits them to the Materials Manager as received.
• Prepares periodic physical inventory for all items in the parts crib and maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment, manually or using computer.
• Compares information on packing lists and requisitions to material received or issued to verify accuracy of order. Prepares requests for procurement of material.
• Helps the Site Materials Manager to package products for sale or shipment to outside services.
• Must be certified to operate a forklift.
• Must be able to lift 70 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. frequently
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor
