Job description

Job Summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Full Time Senior Reliability Engineer responsible for providing system-level reliability analyses, coordination, planning, guidance, and support to project teams throughout the acquisition lifecycle. The candidate would ensure that the corresponding customers and stakeholders reliability requirements and expectations are satisfied in a high quality, trustworthy, cost efficient, and schedule compliant manner throughout a systems entire life cycle. In addition, the candidate would be able to demonstrate consistently good judgment, interpersonal skills, and technical expertise, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform various system-level reliability analyses for multiple projects, review these analyses and generate relevant documentation in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Conducts reliability studies, performs equipment Life Cycle Analysis.
  • Review and evaluate thoroughness and integrity of Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Root Cause analysis reports as provided by suppliers.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and DoD / regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present RAM presentation charts for customer review meetings, summarizing analysis results and compliance to the customer requirements, i.e., start of work meetings; design reviews; corrective action review boards.
  • Develop reliability requirements for systems, subsystems, and assemblies in support of risk management activities and the overall systems engineering processes.
  • Attend project reviews and technical meetings as the representative for the group and generate required documentation for required decision gates.
  • Review performance reports and documentation from customers and field engineers and inspect malfunctioning or damaged products to determine cause of failure.
  • Mentor and coach other engineers.
  • Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel.
  • Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments.
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services.
  • Participate in the preparation of technical proposals.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Must possess excellent analytical and communication skills, written and oral.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
