Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) - $2,319 per week in Lafayette, IN

Job Title : Occupational Therapist Profession : Therapy / Rehabilitation Specialty : Inpatient Rehab Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day Hours per Shift : 8 Experience : Minimum of 1 year experience in acute hospital settings License : State license required Certifications : BLS, NBCOT, Manual Therapy, Lymphedema (preferred) Must-Have : Cerner experience preferred Description : Monday to Friday with one weekend day per month throughout the contract. The Occupational Therapist will be part of an inpatient acute care rehab team. Expected to see patients in all levels of acuity from ICU to progressive care units. Patient diagnoses include CABG and other cardiac procedures, stroke, traumatic brain injury, joint replacements, fracture repairs, respiratory illnesses, dementia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and amputation. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate, develop, and follow a plan of care that may include ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and therapeutic activities to improve function. The role involves assessing appropriateness of discharge disposition recommendations on a daily basis. Supervision and guidance of COTAs with their plan of care is required. Participation in multidisciplinary rounds and daily documentation is expected. Experience managing high acuity ICU / PCU patients is preferred. The role includes working with an interdisciplinary support team. The daily patient load will consist of managing seven patients. Productivity standards require 81% billable units. The Occupational Therapist will perform assessments for acute and chronic disorders, including but not limited to fracture repair and shoulder replacements. Floating to other units or affiliates may be required.
