Who We Are Looking For
As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will build and maintain strategic relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), academic medical investigators, and other stakeholders across the East Coast, helping to translate scientific, clinical, and real‑world evidence into actionable insights that support medical and commercial objectives.
This is what you will do
Scientific Exchange, advice seeking and clinical development support :
- Build external partnerships with recognized community and academic medical center KOLs to identify and address scientific needs and stay abreast of current trends.
- Identify and develop national, regional, and local KOLs for medical education, clinical research and publication opportunities.
- Collaborate on advisory boards, company‑sponsored and investigator‑initiated research, and speaker development.
- Provide field insights to internal teams, support medical education to healthcare professionals at key institutions, and foster professional relationships within the assigned geography.
- Recognize opportunities for cross‑functional engagement and participate in internal therapeutic advisory groups.
- Represent Chiesi USA Medical Affairs at national, regional, and local scientific meetings, delivering high‑caliber presentations.
- Gather and disseminate competitive intelligence, support clinical research initiatives, and participate in planning with business partners.
Therapeutic Support, Internal Collaboration, and Project Work :
Lead and support internal medical projects aligned to personal development plans.Support cross‑functional projects, streamline medical input, and contribute to clinical research and educational material development.Participate in monthly medical meetings, journal clubs, and team meetings.Mentor and onboard new team members.Administrative Work :
Complete documentation of field activities, expense reporting and administrative reports accurately and timely.Finish required training and maintain professional licensing / certifications.You will need to have
Completion of a graduate level degree (PharmD., M.D., D.O., DNP, PhD, MSN, MS or equivalent) with relevant clinical experience.Post‑graduate residency training and 3‑5 years MSL experience in a relevant therapeutic area (exception for PhD candidates with requisite experience).Strong strategic relationship building skills to identify partnership opportunities and improve patient care.Excellent teamwork, self‑discipline, resilience, and the ability to execute multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.High self‑awareness, growth mindset, and flexibility in challenging situations.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including persuasive presentation abilities and active listening.Scientific and clinical expertise in assigned therapeutic area, pharmacoeconomic and real‑world evidence knowledge, and business acumen.Advanced written communication skills demonstrated through the ability to craft complex scientific concepts for varied audiences.Field competency expectations
Scientific and Therapeutic Expertise

Develop medical strategies integrating healthcare trends, payor and reimbursement landscapes, and value‑based concepts.Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge
Adhere to Chiesi compliance policies (PhRMA Code, Sunshine Act); mentor team members in regulatory requirements.Stakeholder Management
Lead cross‑functional initiatives, manage customer relationships, and support medical support for sponsored and collaborative studies.Location
East Coast, USA (Field‑Based); up to 75% travel by air or vehicle, including overnight stays and weekends.
Compensation
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $161,280 to $197,120. Base pay may vary by market location and other individual factors. Overtime is paid for qualifying hours.
