Project Engineer- Heavy Civil Construction (Short-Term Assignment)
Position : Project Engineer - Short Term assignment in Fargo, North Dakota (6 - 9 months).

Position Summary
The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager and Management Team in managing all aspects of a construction project, including financial administration and cost reporting activities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the Construction Manager, Bridges Manager, or Project Manager & Superintendent, participate in developing, maintaining and revising the project schedule
- Manage the relationship and work of assigned sub-contractors & suppliers
- Mentor and guide less experienced Project Engineers
- Communicate with owners about project-related matters and concerns
- Demonstrate and reinforce all Company safety policies and procedures
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
- May perform duties based on the size of the project, including :
- Material ordering based on quantity takeoffs
- Assist with pre-construction activities : planning and design; interpretation of design and drawings; prepare quantity takeoffs
- Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc.
- Verify work-in-place quantities for invoicing / pay quantities; ensure accurate payments
- Maintain submittal logs and timely review of submittals and shop drawings
- Assemble construction financial data; monitor costs; track costs for force accounts
- Maintain job costing system and update forecasts; create margin reporting
- Ensure craft time cards are completed accurately; assign cost codes to purchases, time cards, contracts, equipment time and other cost items
- Maintain as-built drawings; post RFI, bulletin and ASI as appropriate
- Maintain RFI logs and timely responses
- Assist with constructability reviews and value engineering
- Develop, implement and administer project engineering procedures and documentation; track and log documentation
- Manage and maintain safety and quality records
- Develop and update project CPM schedule; manipulate resource and cost-loaded CPM schedules for reporting
- Prepare project status reports and participate in meetings; take meeting minutes
- Assist in project close-out activities
Experience / Qualifications
4-year degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management3-5 years of experience in a similar role; bridge construction experience preferredPE preferredWork Environment
