About The Position

We are seeking an

experienced Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician

Assistant to provide PRN inpatient and operative support in Lexington, Kentucky.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in surgical CT procedures,

including vein harvesting and chest tube placement, and be comfortable working

in both the OR and inpatient settings.

Assignment Details : Shift Type :

Days

Schedule :

1–2 call days per week and one weekend per month

Call Hours :

7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM

Setting :

Inpatient and Operating Room (OR)

• EMR : Epic

Key Responsibilities :

Assist in cardiothoracic surgical

procedures as first assist in the operating room

Perform endoscopic vein harvesting and chest

tube placements

Provide postoperative patient

management, including rounding and follow-up care

Collaborate with surgeons,

anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Participate in call coverage as

scheduled, providing clinical support as needed

Document all patient encounters and

procedures accurately within the EMR

Requirements :

Board Certification as a Nurse

Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

Active Kentucky PA or NP License, or

ability to obtain prior to start

Experience in cardiothoracic or

cardiovascular surgery required

Proficiency in vein harvesting and chest

tube placement
