We are seeking an experienced HVAC Facility Maintenance Lead Technician for a full-time role in the North Austin area . This position requires strong hands-on experience in HVAC maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and general facility repair. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership ability to guide a local and mobile maintenance team while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations across multiple building systems.

A valid Texas HVAC License and clean driving record are required. A company vehicle will be ordered upon start; until then, mileage reimbursement will be provided for use of a personal vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, CRAC units, and related mechanical components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Monitor and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) and Fire / Life / Safety systems.
  • Conduct general building repairs (doors, hardware, furniture, fixtures, etc.).
  • Oversee and coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients to prioritize work, schedule repairs, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Document work orders, PMs, and repairs using computerized maintenance management systems.

Requirements

  • Valid Texas HVAC License (must have).
  • EPA certification required.
  • Minimum 8 years of related maintenance experience (HVAC, electrical, and building systems).
  • Proven leadership / supervisory experience managing technical staff.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across multiple systems.
  • Knowledge of UPS, emergency generators, and FM extinguishing systems.
  • Basic computer proficiency (email, scheduling, work order tracking).
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English clearly.

    • Preferred Skills

  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) a plus.
  • Air-cooled water chiller experience a plus.
  • Experience in customer-facing maintenance roles.

    • Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred (not required).
  • Must pass background check, MVR review, and drug screening.
  • Must maintain neat, professional appearance and demonstrate strong customer service ethic.

    • Additional Notes

  • Must have no DWI within the last 5 years .
  • Any toll violations must be cleared prior to start .
  • Repeat theft or assault convictions will disqualify candidates.

    • Location : North Austin, TX (Howard Lane area)

    Pay Rate : $30–$35 / hr + (DOE)

    Schedule : Full-time, Monday–Friday 7 : 30 AM–4 : 00 PM. Must be available for overtime, weekends as needed, and on-call response during snow or ice events.
