American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a combined Emergency Department and MedSurg role, requiring a compact or SD RN license and a minimum of 1 year of inpatient experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a combined Emergency Department and MedSurg unit with 12 MedSurg bedsServes patients with a variety of diagnoses including stroke, MI, trauma, and provides outpatient infusionsTypical patient ratio for MedSurg is 1 : 4-6Uses Epic and Space Lab charting systemsShift is 12-hour days, 36 hours per weekNo set weekend schedule; self-scheduling with rotating weekendsNo on-call responsibilitiesFloating required within scope of practiceFirst-day orientation includes manager time, Epic / Ilearn training, and one shift with preceptorWork as part of a multidisciplinary team, including techs, RT, imaging, and charge nurse supportCharge nurse serves as a 24 / 7 resource for all units including outpatientPhlebotomy support available on campus during business hours and on-call after hoursScrub requirement : navy blue for RNsHoliday shifts assigned as neededFree parking is available on siteCondition snow policy may require staff to arrive early or stay during weather eventsCandidate suitability as a first-time traveler depends on interview and fit\n \n Requirements\n
Active RN license from South Dakota or compact state requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required; CPI preferredCompletion of an approved nursing education programAt least 1 year of experience in acute inpatient care (ER and / or MedSurg)Experience with a team nursing approachMust reside more than 100 miles from the facility for eligibilityPermanent staff may not return as travelers until 1 year has passed\n Benefits\n
