Structural Designer

Leidos / Gibbs and Cox is seeking a Naval Structural Designer to join our organization in Newport News, VA.

As a member of our highly collaborative multidisciplinary Ship Design team, you will be responsible for producing detailed Structural Functional 2D Drawings, Detail 3D models and 2D Assembly drawings extractions using requirements documents, ship specifications, standards and regulatory body requirements as defined in the requirements section below for Naval, Coast Guard, Commercial ships.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing ShipConstructor to develop Structural 3D models based on Functional Drawings and / or redlines associated with change paper, develop 3D Foundations for equipment, develop Structural Assembly Drawings for Primary Structure and Foundations.
• Preparing accurate and detailed designs, free form surface models and / or drawings based on concept sketches, photographs, or clearly stated functional requirements or appearances.
• Working closely with our clients, naval architects and engineers to produce high quality, detail ship design products and drawings.

Pay Range

Pay Range $50,050.00 - $90,475.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
