Job description

Scope of Position

The Parking Gate Attendant is responsible for managing the parking management system for resort entrances and exits, responding to intercom calls, verifying guest and vendor credentials, and maintains accurate incident reporting. As a key extension of the security department, the operator upholds guest service standards while protecting resort assets and maintaining traffic flow during daily operations and high-volume events.

Position Requirements

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a resort environment.
  • Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an ever-changing environment.
  • CPR, First Aid and AED Certifications, preferred.
  • Minimum of six (6) months' experience in a high-volume capacity, or luxury hotel / resort atmosphere preferred.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-shifts inspection of gates, intercoms, and cameras, checking for visible damage and verifying proper function.
  • Operates Amano One Software to remotely open / close gates, respond to calls for assistance, and resolve parking related issues.
  • Verify credentials (room keys and associate badges) authorizing access in accordance with departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Works with Event Management on Group parking needs and review Group Resumes for validations, comps, charges, and peak vehicular flow times.
  • Complete detailed reports in MS Shift to document gate related property damage and any incidents involving policy violations, security breaches, or unlawful activity.
  • Confirm guest reservation and parking status and resolving discrepancies ensuring synchronization with Amano One.
  • Works closely with Security to identify and investigate access violations, including tailgating and misuse of credentials by guest or associates.
  • Monitors all gate activity and immediately alerts Security upon the arrival of emergency response personnel.
  • Performs basic maintenance and troubleshooting of gates systems, escalating advanced hardware and software issues to Security Management and IT as appropriate.
  • Tracks inventory of gate arms and receipt paper, notify management when supplies are low.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and upholds the company's core values in all guests, vendors, and associate interactions.
  • Respond to all guest requests immediately.
  • Perform any additional duties as required by management.
  • Education

  • High school diploma : experience in a large hotel environment preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities

  • Able to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
  • Able to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
  • Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 100 pounds.
  • Also requires standing / walking / reaching and bending throughout shift.
