The Physical Therapist Assistant, under supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services to patients referred for physical therapy services. The Physical Therapist Assistant communicates and collaborates with other caregivers to provide quality care and maintains accurate patient records.

What You Will Do :

Performs patient treatment as delegated by a licensed physical therapist.

Accurately documents patient progress and communicates with appropriate health care providers on matters concerning patient treatment, continuity of care, and discharge planning.

Maintains proper billing for services provided.

Coordinates patient treatment schedules with self, peers, and other health professionals.

Oversees and evaluates affiliating students as assigned.

Maintains department readiness (i.e. supplies, linen, equipment cleaning).

Escalates any unusual situations or incidents.

Utilizes effective organizational and time management skills.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Licensure / Certification : Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Ohio; Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider required.

Experience : One year of clinical experience in respective area preferred.

Effective Communication Skills

Ability to make sound decisions and utilize good judgment concerning patient treatment.

Physically able to perform strenuous activities, such as lifting and transferring patients.

Ability to travel to other sites as necessary to meet system needs.
