Job description

Position Summary

The Human Resource Clerk is a responsible clerical position involving public contact, record keeping and the processing of forms and documents. The general purpose of this position is to perform a variety of clerical functions including data entry, filing, faxing and scanning.

Supervision Received

The Human Resource Clerk works under the direction of the Manager of Human Resources.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintains files, sorts, removes and replaces documents in files.
  • Assists with internal social media platform.
  • Processes forms and documents within generally established procedures.
  • Assists with balancing of carrier invoices.
  • Inputs data into human resource system, timekeeping and payroll systems.
  • Performs related clerical work as required.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma supplemented by business courses plus three years of progressively responsible secretarial / clerical experience including public contact or an equivalent combination of education or experience which provides a demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • The ability to use written sources of information to read reports, procedural documentation, reference material, reference graphs, etc.
  • The ability to use and process verbal and auditory sources of information obtained through interviews, group meetings, telephone calls, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Making general decisions in the absence of specific directions, such as prioritizing workload, or referring applicants to hiring supervisors.
  • Sitting frequently; standing and walking are occasionally required.
  • Specific vision abilities, including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Use of clear, concise and accurate oral communications to perform work.
