The Role
This analytical, business-oriented role supports Public's financial strategy, decision-making, and long-term planning. Projects include financial planning & analysis, business operations, fundraising and M&A. The position may be up-leveled depending on experience and skill set. This is an onsite role based in the New York City office.
What You'll Do
Own, operate, and improve the company's financial model; help forecast and manage annual budgeting.Prepare ongoing management financial reporting (P&L, variance vs. budget, departmental and product P&L, KPI monitoring, management discussion & analysis) for the executive team, investors and internal stakeholders in close collaboration with Accounting.Collect, analyze, and interpret financial and operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.Serve as a liaison between Finance and other departments (Marketing, Product, Brokerage, People, etc.) to provide financial support and clarity for budget owners.Maintain vendor-level budgets and forecasts; establish recurring reporting cadence to spot cost-saving opportunities, analyze budget vs. actuals and ensure consistency across forecasting, procurement and approval processes.Who You Are
4+ years of professional experience2+ years at an investment bank, management consulting firm or similar; 2+ years in a high-growth, fintech or tech-enabled business.Advanced Excel skills—ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets.Strong problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically and outside the box.Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex information clearly.Intermediate understanding of general accounting concepts, including GAAP.BonusExperience with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.) and SQL.

Compensation : $110,000 – $140,000, based on skills and experience.
