Position
SLSCO Ltd. Federal Services Division is seeking an experienced QC Manager to join a fast-growing and dynamic Federal Division in pursuit of heavy civil infrastructure opportunities across the Southwestern United States with federal clients, such as the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC).
Responsibilities
- Serve as QC Manager reporting primarily to the Project Manager / Superintendent, with additional functional responsibilities to the Director of Quality Control.
- Manage and maintain a healthy client relationship while protecting company interests.
- Become familiar with all plans and specifications that govern the project.
- Develop and implement the Project Quality Control Plan to ensure contract compliance.
- Communicate QC Plan expectations and requirements with all stakeholders.
- Perform quality inspections as per contract requirements and the 3-phase quality system.
- Proactively inspect in-process work to ensure contract conformance and minimize rework.
- Establish inspection protocols for off-site work to ensure high quality standards.
- Manage efforts of third-party testing and inspection companies supporting the project.
- Review all submittals for compliance with contract specifications before submission.
- Perform audits to ensure compliance with the QC Plan.
- Maintain and manage RFI and Non-Conformance Registers to resolve construction issues.
- Provide quality reports regularly (daily / weekly / monthly).
- Assist in developing QC Plans for future projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager / Superintendent or Director of Quality Control.
Qualifications
Minimum 10+ years as QC professional on construction projects valued over $10M.2-year or 4-year degree in construction, engineering, or related fields (strongly desired).Experience with federal projects involving DOD / USACE / NAVFAC (strongly desired).USACE CQCM certification (strongly desired) or must attain within 30 days of hiring.30-hour OSHA certification (strongly desired) or must attain within 30 days of hiring.Proficiency with computers and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).Ability to pass background / security checks.Secret or higher Security Clearance (strongly desired).Physical Demands
