Under the general supervision of the Fleet & Facilities Manager, the Squid Truck Technician is responsible for the optimal functioning, maintenance, and operation of the company's specialized over-water fueling ("Squid Truck") fleet.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The Squid Truck Technician is primarily responsible for the following functions :
Performs repairs and preventative maintenance on specialized marine and over-water fueling trucks ("Squid Trucks") and related equipment.
Conducts regular pre and post trip inspections to ensure the optimal operation of assigned truck.
Operates the Squid Truck to deliver fuel to marine and over-water customers as needed.
Complies with all EPA, Coast Guard, and DOT / FMCSA regulations surrounding the safe handling of hazardous chemicals and marine fueling.
Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes in order to initiate and assign repairs.
Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns on-road or at customer locations.
Maintains a clean, safe, work area in compliance with OSHA standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety policies.
Performs other similar duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required :
High school degree or equivalent.
3-5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
TWIC card, or ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of hire.
Ability to work extended hours as necessary, especially during peak demand seasons.
