Empower Communication Across the Lifespan in Vibrant Buffalo, NY - Join Our Dedicated Team as a Speech Language Pathologist

Overview

Imagine a career that allows you to find purpose in each patient's journey - one that provides a voice to those who need it most! As a Speech Language Pathologist in the lively city of Buffalo, your role transcends the treatment of communication and swallowing disorders; you will contribute to unlocking potential, instilling confidence, and fostering connections between individuals of all ages.

This unique position offers the chance to work with diverse populations, from energetic toddlers articulating their first sounds to seniors reclaiming their independence. Your daily contributions will weave together outpatient therapy sessions with the occasional inpatient support, giving you the opportunity to make a significant impact across different stages of life.

Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments and observational techniques.
  • Create customized treatment plans that cater to immediate goals while addressing long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Provide individualized speech therapy interventions focused on enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families, to develop cohesive care strategies.
  • Educate patients and their families to ensure continued progress beyond your clinical sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Maintain detailed and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through educational opportunities and peer collaborations.

Education

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are yet to be ASHA-certified.
  • Certifications

  • A valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferably, hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for patients of all ages, with a deep understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to tailor therapy techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgement coupled with proficient problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
  • Benefits

  • Attractive compensation aligned with your expertise.
  • Flexible scheduling options that promote work-life harmony and varied caseloads.
  • Chances to focus on specialties such as pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
  • Paid time off (PTO) as well as holiday pay.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
  • Reimbursement for continuing education and support for professional development.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere centered around quality care and lifelong learning.
  • A Career That Inspires - and Moves You

In this role, you won't just administer speech therapy - you'll become part of a community-focused mission devoted to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating joyful moments through the most fundamental human interactions : understanding and connection.

You will join compassionate clinicians who treat one another as friends, fostering an environment where collaboration is favored over competition. Each patient's journey is unique, and we trust you to guide them in crafting their narrative.

Experience the Culture and Charm of Buffalo

Buffalo, NY, is a city that beautifully marries the vibrancy of urban life with a rich cultural heritage. Renowned for its stunning architecture, thriving arts scene, and proximity to nature's wonders like Niagara Falls, the area suits both adventure seekers and those who relish in a slower pace.

Families enjoy the warmth of gathering in local parks for live music and leisurely afternoons, while outdoor enthusiasts find excitement hiking along scenic trails or kayaking on the shimmering waters of Lake Erie. Food lovers will be delighted by the diverse culinary landscape, ranging from iconic Buffalo wings to gourmet eateries and community food festivals.

The creative spirit of Buffalo is palpable in its murals, heard in its music venues, and celebrated through festivals that reflect the community's diversity. Beyond the enviable lifestyle, professionals can benefit from no state income tax and a cost of living that nurtures both career and personal aspirations.

Whether you're entering the field or an experienced clinician eager to redefine your career path, Buffalo invites you to grow in every sense.

    Who We Are Seeking

We are looking for a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist who is driven by meaningful results and compassion. If you picture a quiet child and imagine their blossoming into a confident communicator, or recognize a stroke survivor's challenges and hear the resolve behind their speech, we want you.

You may specialize in pediatrics and wish to explore the adult population or have expertise in neuro-based work and want to incorporate early intervention. Whatever your inclination, our team is excited to support your journey.

Let's Collaborate and Create Impactful Change

If you conceptualize speech therapy as a conduit for connection rather than mere tasks, if you champion building trust before addressing challenges, and value the laughter as much as the language, then you're destined to thrive in this environment.

Join us in celebrating communication, connection, and the bravery needed to embark on new paths. Apply today to lend your voice to our mission and assist others in discovering theirs.
