About Our Client

Our client is a growing international food importer and distributor, bringing together multiple established businesses under one organization. Their mission is to deliver authentic, high-quality global food products while honoring culinary traditions from around the world. With decades of combined experience, they offer an extensive portfolio of specialty food products across multiple categories. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a Buyer to support sourcing, inventory management, and supplier relationships.

Job Description

Source products, identify qualified suppliers, and negotiate pricing and terms. Place purchase orders and manage order lifecycle to ensure timely delivery. Monitor inventory levels and adjust purchasing plans to maintain optimal stock levels. Collaborate with demand planning to align purchasing activities with forecasts. Maintain supplier budgets and ensure purchasing activity stays within approved limits. Negotiate delivery schedules to meet operational and inventory requirements. Maintain accurate product, vendor, and pricing data in ERP systems. Place rush or emergency orders as needed to prevent stockouts. Follow up with suppliers to confirm order accuracy, quantities, and delivery timelines. Address product quality issues and work with suppliers on corrective actions. Track and analyze key performance indicators including inventory turnover, service levels, and supplier performance. Prepare purchasing and inventory reports as needed. Partner with Quality teams to ensure product compliance and specifications. Identify potential supply chain risks and proactively develop mitigation plans. Perform other duties as assigned.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Buyer - Ingredients/Commodities - Food & Beverage should have:

• 4+ years of experience in a Buyer, Purchasing, or related supply chain role
• Strong knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain processes
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting
• Experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred but not required
• Familiarity with supply and demand planning tools
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proactive problem-solving approach with attention to detail
• Effective verbal communication and negotiation skills
