Job descriptionMinimum 2 years of nursing experience required Travel experience required Must be flexible with weekend requirements and able to work 50% of weekends in contract Patient ratios : 5 : 1 during days, 5-6 : 1 during nights Care for adults and geriatric patients with cardiovascular surgical, peripheral vascular surgical conditions, arrhythmias, endocarditis, CHF exacerbations Floating is 100% required - may float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) at University and Methodist Hospitals Refusal to float may result in contract termination May be assigned charge nurse responsibilities with provided training Must agree to possibility of precepting and / or having students shadow during assignment Call-ins must be made up during pay period or added to end of contract Required certification : BCLS Preferred skills : Telemetry and IV starts Required skills : Blood product administration, central line care, heparin protocols, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, pre / post cardiac surgery care Experience with Cerner charting system preferred Must complete 8 hours of non-billable modules pre-start Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays Indiana residents not accepted for this position License must be in hand prior to start date Referral bonus
