ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform on-the-job training for all new hires and temporary teammates on department functions;
- Ensure work is performed safely at all times; Wear proper safety equipment at all times;
- Represent the Earl’s culture, mission, vision, and values to new hires
- Ensure completion of all training tools, including training guides, presentations, and other applicable tools. Attest to the completion of each step of the training process.
- Routinely observes employees performing specific work tasks and provides feedback, direction and / or coaching to help improve employee performance;
- Reports progress of employee under guidance during training periods;
- Set a standard of excellence in job performance, attendance, and adherence to all policies and procedures;
- Work effectively with other members of management and the Human Resources staff to coordinate time of all new hire training and appropriate follow-ups;
- Establish timelines and milestones for development for all new hires;
- Exihibits and practices positive communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills with co-workers and trainees consistent with maintaining a professional team environment;
- Trains new hires on use of company’s computerized systems, including Dakota and VAM;
- Routinely performs warehouse related tasks such as equipment operation and material handling;
- Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education and / or Experience : Minimum High School degree preferred. Minimum one year of related work experience and preferably knowledge of produce varieties, or overall equivalent experience in a warehouse or logistics environment. Experience with shipping, receiving and storage, warehouse safety and meeting customer expectations. Minimum one year training others in a warehouse environment.Language Skills : Excellent Communication skills including reading, writing, and verbally communicating effectively and professionally with other business departments, customers, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism. Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred.Reasoning Ability : Ability to think independently and to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of different situations without set guidelines. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, report or schedule form.Equipment : Operate equipment such as, but not limited to, stand up pallet jack, electric pallet jack, copier, phone.Other Skills & Abilities : Must be able to work variable hours, days, weekends and Holidays. Ability to multi task and prioritize in a time-pressured environment. Excellent organizational skills. High accuracy in work with attention to detail. Ability to complete projects in a timely manner. Ability to get along and work cooperatively with others. Positive and professional attitude. Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback. Stand and walk or sit alternatively depending on specific needs of day. Estimate 90% of time is spent on feet and 10% sitting at desk.Have constant need to perform the following physical activities : bending / stooping / squatting, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting and reaching above shoulders.Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities.Consistent need to perform the following physical activities : writing / typing, grasping / turning, finger dexterity.Lifting / carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently and over 50 lbs. occasionally.Vision requirements : consistent need to complete forms, view computer screen. Frequent need to see small detail. Frequent need to see things clearly beyond arm's reach.Hearing requirements : consistent need to communicate over telephone and in person.WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate but may be high during certain times of the day due to business level. This position is exposed to temperatures varying from 34 to over 70 degrees and humidity levels varying from 80 to 95%.
