Main Purpose of Job
This position reports directly to the Deputy Director of Contributions for the Division of Unemployment Insurance (DUI). The main purpose of this position is to manage and supervise a regional staff of auditors assigned to ensure fair and equal administration of Unemployment Insurance law to all Maryland employers. This position ensures efficient resource management and quality customer service within the Field Investigation and Audit Unit and Tax Compliance Unit of the Tax Enforcement Section.
POSITION DUTIES
Provide leadership and management for the day-to-day Operations of the Field Investigation and Audit Unit and Tax Compliance Unit of the Tax Enforcement Section of the Contributions Division applying UI Management Model standards to comply with USDOL performance measures and Maryland state law and attain Agency goals.
Direct And or Actively Participate in the Following Activities :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or a combination of military and / or educational experience functionally equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree with 30 credits in Accounting and related courses including 3 credit hours in Auditing.
Experience : Six years of experience in an administrative or professional work capacity. Two years of this experience must have involved one or more of the following : the supervision of other employees, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a unit.

Prior experience auditing tax and / or financial records.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of Maryland and Federal Unemployment Insurance law, policies and / or procedures
Experience preparing management reports.
Experience preparing program and performance reports.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (Labor / DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to Labor / DUI as a result of unemployment insurance overpayment / fraud. Any unpaid debt may have an impact on whether or not a candidate is offered employment.
