The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention protection and preparation as well as the care custody and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody healthcare and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration Health Services Rehabilitation & Reentry Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!

Salary Grade Range: $47703.00 - $83479.00
Salary Pay Grade: NC12

The Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of public and business administration.
Thorough knowledge of program objectives and standards in the area of assignment.
Demonstrated skills and experience to initiate and install administrative programs and procedures and to evaluate their effectiveness.
Demonstrated skills and experience to exercise judgment and discretion in establishing applying and interpreting policies and procedures.
Demonstrated skills and experience to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel officials and the general public.
Demonstrated skills and experience to participate effectively in program planning evaluation and quality control methods.
Demonstrated skills and experience to plan assign and supervise the work of subordinate positions.
Experience reviewing Offender Publications.

Minimum Education and Experience
