Position Overview:

ASG is offering a variety of available positions that will fit your coaching style and highlight your strengths. We offer Assistant, Lead Coach, and Head Coach/Coordinator positions in our Team Programs for PreTeam, Compulsory(DEVO), Xcel, and Optionals(DEVO). We have over 100 kids in our Team Program and there is ample room to grow with hours and management opportunities in the future.

Team Assistant Coach Responsibilities

Lead Coach Responsibilities

• To maintain all curriculum and lesson plans for your team/practice.
• To be timely with quarterly skill assessments and skill tracking.
• To supervise assistant coaches/instructors in a manner that puts the success of the assigned level and team at the forefront.
• To manage up by viewing leadership as partners and actively engaging with your management team.
• To maintain retention numbers and growth in skills and progressions over the season.

Head Coach/Coordinator responsibilities are developed on an individual basis, and are developed organically based on the needs of the specific program and the strengths of the applicant.

Desired Skills and abilities.

• Ability to assist the program coordinator/manager with duties including but not limited to practices, training, setting up lesson plans, athlete management and skill assessment scheduling.
• Team player, able to offer and accept productive feedback.
• Lead a group of 8 kids independently in a safe, positive, fun-filled environment using our Recreational Curriculum and/or Team Progression goals.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively with management, program participants, parents, coworkers, and community partners.
• Positive attitude with staff, students, and parents.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Must have the physical capacity to be on your feet throughout full 3-6 hour shifts and the strength required to provide spotting to students as needed per the level/skills you will coach.
• First Aid and CPR certified, or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• USAG Professional or instructor certified, or able to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Experience and Qualifications

Team Assistant:
Past experience as a competitive gymnasts and 1 year or more of coaching experience.

Team Lead/Head Coach:
2 years or more of team gymnastics coaching experience or 5 years or more of recreational gymnastics coaching experience is required.

• Ability to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends
• Reliable and accountable.

Management:
5 years or more of competitive lead coaching experience or 3 years of sports managerial experience required.
