Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They provide engineering and manufacturing support expertise to enable on-time, lowest cost hardware delivery with performance and reliability that exceed customer expectations. They execute across all phases of a program including proposal capture, process development, transition to production, and production support. Manufacturing Engineers design, control, and improve the manufacturing process and associated documentation / instructions through a collaborative effort with the value stream team. You would apply your experience and skills to implement improvements that reduce cycle time and cost and improve productivity, while maintaining a high level of safety in the manufacturing environment and quality within the product.

What You Will Do

\n

  • Ability to work cross functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, test, and design to implement robust processes.

\n

  • Make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new equipment, tools, and materials
  • \n

  • Review and validate recommendations regarding manufacturability of existing and future products and advise modifications or adaptations to address quality, customer, product, or productivity constraints.
  • \n

  • Support the integration of new equipment and manufacturing systems / tools including initial set-up, prove-out (validation), and sell-off to production (verification).
  • \n

  • Drive Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using CORE principles and data driven decision making
  • \n

  • Provide real-time technical support to assemblers / operators and inspectors.
  • \n

  • Participate on corrective action teams and support root cause / corrective action investigations.
  • \n \n

    Qualifications You Must Have

    \n

  • Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • \n

  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods / processes
  • \n

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • \n \n

    Qualifications We Prefer

    \n

  • Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • \n

  • Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO / ProE) and / or simulation tools
  • \n

  • Experience / familiarity with Manufacturing / Enterprise Resource Planning (MRP / ERP) tools and systems (ie PRISM / SAP)
  • \n

  • Experience / familiarity with Manufacturing Shop Floor Management tools and systems (ie cMES)
  • \n

  • Experience / familiarity with Product Data Management tools and systems (ie Windchill / PDM)
  • \n

  • Experience with designing, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated tooling and machinery
  • \n

  • Experience with military and industry standards
  • \n

  • Experience with conducting safety / ergonomic assessments
  • \n

  • Familiarity with standard material handling practices, especially as they pertain to Electrostatic Discharge mitigation requirements
  • \n

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Word, etc)
  • \n

  • Good written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • \n

  • Self-motivated and results oriented individual with an ability to work in a team environment and with minimal direct supervision
  • \n

  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
  • \n

  • Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and keeps pace with advances in technology
  • \n

  • Good organizational skills with fine attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
  • \n

    As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

    The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education / training, and key skills.

    Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

    Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and / or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and / or the company's performance.

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
