The SMIT Service Desk Tier I Team is seeking multiple motivated and entry-level technicians to join our team. This exciting opportunity allows you to work with a dynamic group in providing Tier I technical support for software, hardware, and network issues. You'll help clients by diagnosing problems and guiding them through step-by-step solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
Utilize automated information systems to analyze routine situations effectively.
Manage incoming requests through sorting, coding, and prioritizing to handle tasks efficiently.
Resolve issues independently and collaboratively, escalating to higher tiers when necessary.
Assist users by fulfilling individual requests for information and training on various databases.
Provide instruction on PC and network usage.
Apply critical thinking to grasp complex systems quickly.
Handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Engage effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Enhance peer mentoring skills within the team.
Deliver exceptional phone and email support with strong communication skills.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years of general experience, or a combination of relevant experience and education.
8570 certification - CompTIA Network +, A +, or Security +CE.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Capability to document issues, troubleshooting processes, and resolutions effectively.
Familiarity with NMCI internal structure, processes, and tools.
Proficient in HPSM ticketing and Knowledge Management System.
Must be a US Citizen.
Able to work shifts as required, including nights and weekends.
Must hold an active interim or secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher in information technology or related field, or equivalent work experience, with at least one year on NMCI Service Desk.
