Associate Legislative Counsel

Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB), Michigan?s leading advocate for agricultural communities and the largest general farm organization in the state, is seeking a dedicated Associate Legislative Counsel. This role is pivotal in shaping and guiding legislative efforts that protect and enhance the interests of our members, all while working within a dynamic team that is passionate about Michigan?s agricultural prosperity. The Associate Counsel will provide expert legal analysis and guidance on proposed legislation, ensuring alignment with MFB?s mission to defend the rights and promote the economic interests of Michigan farmers. Analyze and interpret state and federal legislation affecting agriculture and rural communities Develop legal strategies and provide counsel to MFB?s senior management on legislative matters Draft legislative proposals, amendments, and testimonies for hearings Collaborate with government agencies, external counsel, and other stakeholders to advance MFB?s legislative agenda Participate in committees and task forces related to agricultural law and public policy Monitor legal and regulatory developments, and provide timely updates to the organization Advocate for MFB?s position on various legislative issues at state and federal levels Strong understanding of legislative processes and public policy formulation Ability to analyze complex legal documents Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in research and drafting legal documents Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with government officials and stakeholders Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401kaa415a4b-8b21-40fc-a65c-70d2b25ca29a
