Main Ingredients of the Job : As a US FOODS PRONTO DRIVER you will be critical to the US FOODS team and one of the important faces of our organization. As a Pronto Driver, you will have an impact on our customers by delivering our meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies to their drop-off sites.
Lift 80+ lbs on a consistent basisLoad and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveriesTransport deliveries by driving assigned vehiclesUse a hand truck to deliver to the customer location including going up and down stairs with the product as necessaryAccurately record delivery information including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentationResponsible for the proper documentation and disposition for any return productCommunicate delivery-customer issues to proper authority (i.e., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor, etc.)Deliver the product to each of the designated stops using the stop sequence provided for the dayUnload product safely and stage product in the space(s) designated by customerCheck the invoice for complete delivery. Process paperwork and damaged merchandise if anyCollect payments if necessaryMonitor refrigeration system on van consistently for safety; follow all safe food handling proceduresPerform pre-trip and post-trip inspections such as monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash and replenishing fuelOther duties as assignedWhat you bring to the table :
Education / Training : High School Education or GED preferredRelated Experience / Requirements : Must be 18 years of age or older. Valid driver's license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required. No more than 2 convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past 3 years, no driver's license suspensions in the past 3 years.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :Able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulationsMust have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)Must pass pre-employment testingHave knowledge of area and / or map reading abilitiesUse safe lifting and loading techniquesGreat interpersonal / customer service skillsAvailability to work on weekends and HolidaysGreat Pronto Drivers are crucial to the US Foods team and one of the important faces of our organization. Our truck drivers strive for integrity and reliability while building trusting relationships with customers.Join Our Transportation Team!Compensation depends on relevant experience and / or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $25 and $30 per hour. This role is also eligible for overtime compensation.
