Rod N' Reel Restaurant has been a staple for Chesapeake Beach since 1946. Throughout the years, it has served the local community and travelers from around the world. As we have embarked on the new chapter of the Resort, we have also reimagined our Signature restaurant. Focused on fresh hyper-local and local seafood, produce, and meats from local farmers, curated wine selections, and impeccable service.
Position Summary :
At the Rod ‘N Reel Resort, our Servers play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences that reflect our resort’s warm hospitality and coastal charm. The Server is responsible for providing attentive, friendly, and efficient service to all guests while maintaining the highest standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities :
- Greet and welcome guests with a positive and engaging attitude.
- Present menus, take accurate food and beverage orders, and enter them promptly into the POS system.
- Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain complete knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and promotions, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
- Provide recommendations and upselling menu items to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests to ensure satisfaction throughout their dining experience.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen, bar, and host teams to ensure seamless service and communication.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and resort policies, including responsible alcohol service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned station and service areas before, during, and after shifts.
- Handle guest complaints with professionalism and communicate any concerns to management immediately.
- Participate in team pre-shifts and training sessions to continuously improve service standards.
Qualifications :
Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant, resort, or hospitality environment preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first attitude.Multitasking, organizational, and time-management abilities.Knowledge of POS systems (Micros or similar) preferred.Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid alcohol service certification (TIPS or equivalent).Flexible availability includes nights, weekends, and holidays.Physical Requirements :
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.Lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume environments.Requirements :
