MODALITY TEAM LEAD
Job Summary :
In addition to performing regular duties as a technologist within the imaging center, this position leads and promotes the operations of the department where team members work as a team to provide quality patient care and strive for excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Provides the Imaging Center Manager, ICM, with feedback regarding hiring qualified technologists.
- Maintains a minimum level of team member turnover.
- Sets clear and specific expectations / objectives for team members and the department.
- Monitors and documents performance during performance periods and provides documentation to the ICM.
- Provides the ICM input on performance.
- Recognizes and provides coaching, counseling, and discipline as appropriate.
- Keeps all team members informed regarding internal issues and external developments.
- Provides team members with support and motivation.
- Exhibits objectivity and openness to other’s views; demonstrates ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
- Promotes flexibility in staff utilization across teams and departments.
- Delegates work appropriately and follows through to ensure optimal results.
- Provides team members development opportunities as appropriate.
- Adheres to all OSHA regulations, RadNet practices and generally accepted safety protocols.
- Displays willingness and ability to make tough decisions.
- Demonstrates sound judgment.
- Integrates changes smoothly.
- Responds professionally under pressure.
- Performs technologist duties to maintain technical skills and to alleviate staffing shortages.
- Supports the ICM in facility initiatives.
- Acts on behalf of the ICM when he / she is unavailable.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) :
Familiarity with and ability to use equipment in assigned modality including RIS, imaging equipment and PACS.Ability to utilize the principles, theories, practices, techniques and methods of the imaging procedures the team member conducts in order to produce images of high diagnostic quality.Understands anatomy and pathology as needed to perform imaging procedures in assigned modalities.Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communication.Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve department and organizational objectives.Ability to share information effectively and provide appropriate direction to team members.Ability to delegate responsibility and authority to team members.Knowledge of state and federal health and safety regulations.General computer skills and Microsoft Office knowledge.Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.Education & Experience Requirements :
The above knowledge, skills and abilities may be demonstrated by successful completion of an accredited radiology program or 2-year degree; registered with the ARRT and state licensure (if applicable). Advanced level certification in the modality that the team member specializes (if available) plus prior experience in managing team members or a degree in management.
Physical Demands :
This position often requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting reaching with hands and arms, using hands and fingers, handling, speaking, listening, and cognitive thinking. Also, must be able to lift over 50 pounds, occasionally. All employees are to assist and participate as members of a lift assistance team (for special accommodation patients or any patient requiring assistance onto a table or equipment placement) to initiate or complete an exam or procedure.
Work Environment :
Technologists work in an outpatient medical office setting with low to moderate noise level.
