Summary : This position is 50% remote / 50% on site(s). Union or Union management experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides concrete support for national construction projects. Directs administration and training of construction personnel for national construction projects.
• Develops standard operating procedures for construction execution to minimize cost and duration of construction activities.
• Monitors, evaluates, and reports civil performance of assigned construction projects to the Operations Manager.
• Provides recommendations to the Operations Manager regarding project civil staff assignments / teams.
• Acts as liaison between construction and engineering for all concrete-related matters.
• Ensures all construction projects meet the client-specified civil quality standards.
• Supports site Superintendents in developing SOPs, man-loaded and equipment-loaded schedules (fragnet schedules), staging plans, bill of materials, and quality control plans.
• Leads weekly civil superintendent calls to discuss safety, quality, productivity, and resource needs.
• Establishes and maintains relationships and develops a high level of trust and credibility with key clients, alliance partners, subcontractors, and project teams.
• Communicates lessons learned and reviews project budgets / unit rates with assigned superintendent to ensure alignment with company earning rules.
• Coordinates and tracks equipment assignments with site teams and CEFs; maintains updated spreadsheets.
• Directs corrective action for discipline problems or poor performance and involves the department and Human Resources as required.
• Enforces and interprets division and department policies, standards, and procedures.
• Provides supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports.
• Adheres to safety and quality standards applicable to duties and accountabilities.
• Identifies and assesses improvement opportunities that add value; champions continuous improvement efforts and supports change management.
• Proactively supports and facilitates staff engagement in continuous improvement activities.
• Travel to support sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction or heavy industrial experience preferred, or relevant experience. 3+ years of construction management experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements which may include background checks, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

Physical Demands include lifting up to 50 pounds; standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, movement over long distances; good vision and hearing; full range of motion; repetitive movements; potential work above 5 feet; climbing on steel frameworks and ladders; long shifts up to 12 hours in varied temperatures and conditions.

Work Environment includes typical construction site conditions, cramped spaces, exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, wind, snow, rain, bright or dim lighting, loud noises, hazardous equipment, and an office environment. This position is safety sensitive.
