Location / Travel
This role will require regular travel among three facility locations in Waldorf, MD; Prince Frederick, MD; and Hollywood, MD . The successful candidate must be able to reliably commute or travel to these sites on a rotating or scheduled basis.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide coverage for diagnostic nuclear procedures under direction and supervision of the Technical Director, Team Lead, and supervising physicians.
Adhere to regulatory and institutional standards (e.g. Maryland Department of Energy, OSHA, facility policies) to maintain compliance and safety.
Maintain standards necessary for ICANL accreditation and the facility license.
Greet, screen, and prepare patients :
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all paperwork for each exam, including but not limited to :
Prep patients for tests (e.g. proper ECG lead placement).
Participate in stress testing and assist in patient monitoring.
Confirm patient appointments ~48 hours in advance.
Prepare next-day schedules and saline flushes.
Maintain inventory of supplies (patient supplies, medical supplies, snacks, medications).
Manage billing for exams, ensuring high accuracy in coding and documentation.
Maintain laundry services : ensure clean linens are available; properly dispose of used linens.
Ensure that patient and work areas remain clean, disinfected, and in compliance with infection control.
Follow state and federal radiation safety guidelines and protocols.
Required Qualifications & Skills
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Preferably 2+ years of experience in a cardiac or nuclear medicine setting or relevant imaging environment.
Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a dynamic clinical environment.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, physicians, and staff.
Ability to travel reliably between the three locations and manage one’s schedule accordingly.
Commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance, safety practices, and quality standards.
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
Experience with nuclear medicine procedures, stress testing, ECG, or cardiac imaging.
Familiarity with accreditation and compliance processes (ICANL or other relevant standards).
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scanning / document management.
Some exposure to billing, coding, or radiology services reimbursement procedures.
Working Conditions & Other Expectations
Position involves rotation or travel among multiple clinical sites (Waldorf, Prince Frederick, Hollywood MD).
Must maintain flexibility in scheduling to cover various shifts or procedure times as required.
Work areas may include radiation-controlled zones; compliance with radiation safety protocols is essential.
Will be expected to maintain a clean, safe work environment and to participate in quality control or accreditation audits.
Regular interface with leadership, physicians, and patients requires strong professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
