Job Description
We are a leading manufacturer of high-precision production equipment, including print, bag, and mail production lines, visual inspection systems, UV and IR drying and curing devices, and corona cleaning systems.
Position Overview
As the Manager of Mechatronics Engineering, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of 7-9 mechatronics, electrical, and mechanical engineers with a focus on integrated system design and team development. Reporting to the Director of US Mechanical Engineering, you will ensure delivery of innovative electro-mechanical solutions while developing engineering talent and fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development : Lead and develop 7-9 mechatronics / mechanical engineers through coaching and cross-disciplinary skill development.
- Implement training programs covering system integration, electro-mechanical integration, and automation technologies.
- Conduct performance reviews focused on technical achievement and multidisciplinary career growth.
- Support career development plans bridging mechanical and electrical competencies.
- Manage integrated electro-mechanical system development for assigned product lines.
- Lead mechanical designs related to motion control systems, including servo drives, actuators, and precision positioning.
- Drive solutions to enhance product performance and manufacturing efficiency.
- Review system-level validation and testing processes for integrated mechatronic solutions.
- Ensure adherence to stage-gate processes with emphasis on system integration milestones.
- Lead mechatronic design focusing on performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Execute ECR and ECN processes for integrated systems.
- Conduct cross-disciplinary design reviews and support initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies and simulation tools.
- Monitor project schedules, resource allocation, and deliverable quality.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and program management teams.
- Lead cross-functional integration activities and system-level development.
- Support budget planning and drive standardization of mechatronic components.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with mechanical systems experience.Experience : 7+ years mechanical engineering experience with 3+ years in team leadership roles and managing 8-15 engineering professionals.Preferred background in precision mechatronic systems, preferably automated production equipment.Strong knowledge of control systems, servo drives, motion control, and automation technologies.Experience with mechatronic system design, sensor integration, and real-time control systems; SolidWorks experience preferred.Proficiency with simulation tools (MATLAB / Simulink, LabVIEW) and 3-D CAD systems.Experience with FE, thermodynamical models and digital twins preferred.Excellent communication skills and strong people-management and coaching abilities across mechanical and electrical domains.Results-oriented approach with commitment to system-level quality and continuous improvement.Strong execution skills, collaborative leadership style, and experience with project management and multidisciplinary teamwork.Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Director of US Mechanical Engineering and collaborates closely with electrical engineering and software development managers.
