Assignment Length : 13 weeks Start Date : November 17, 2025 End Date : February 16, 2026 Shift : Day shifts, 12 hours (06 : 45 - 19 : 15), 3x12 or 4x12 per week Hours per Week : 36 Unit : General Surgery (Med / Surg Unit) Patient Population : Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics Bed Count : 24 Charting System : Cerner EMR Scrub Color : Any solid color Parking : Free with permit Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1890 - $1940 Med / Surg Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience in a hospital or acute care setting Active Illinois Registered Nurse license (must be in hand at time of application) BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross only) Proficiency with PICC line management and IV insertion Willingness to care for tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients (training provided if no prior experience) Experience with Cerner charting system preferred Ability to float within scope to other nursing units as needed Availability to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted) Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to Med / Surg patients, including adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations Perform and manage PICC lines, IV insertions, and blood transfusions Provide wound care, manage surgical drains, and perform dressing changes Care for patients with tracheostomies and laryngectomies Administer medications and monitor patient responses Utilize specialized clinical equipment such as feeding tube pumps, infusion pumps, wound vacs, and patient mobility devices Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Float to other medical-surgical units as needed to support hospital operations Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
