Project / Program Manager II
The King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) is offering a benefit-eligible Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) or Special Duty Assignment (SDA) opportunity for a Project / Program Manager II (PPM II) in the Records Services Section (RSS). This position will manage multiple deadlines, respond to government entities, and collaborate with the Archives & Records Manager, KCSO Legal team, and the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. The role is well-suited to an organized, detail-oriented professional with legal experience who thrives in a high-volume environment and is committed to transparency, accountability, and public service.
This assignment is benefit-eligible and is expected to last approximately 16 months. This position is open to current King County employees.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Highly skilled in research, data analysis, and information gathering.
Proven ability to deliver consistent, detail-oriented, high-quality work.
Sound judgment, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
Experience with databases and recordkeeping systems to manage and use data.
Knowledge of research methods for electronic records.
Knowledge of general government principles and procedures.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities amid frequent interruptions.
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Commitment to excellent customer service with professionalism and tact.
Flexibility and collaboration within a small team environment.
Ability to work effectively across a diverse workforce.
Experience handling high-volume workloads with effective time management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe.
Knowledge of project management principles and ability to apply them.
Highly desirable qualifications :
Three plus years high-level administrative support experience.
Knowledge of records management practices and record retention techniques and principles.
Previous experience working with confidential or highly sensitive information and / or offensive documents / case files.
Experience in managing both physical and electronic records throughout their lifecycle, ensuring proper classification, secure storage, and timely disposition.

Work location : SeaTac Towers 17930 International Blvd, SeaTac, WA
Work schedule : This full-time position is overtime eligible with prior supervisor approval. Typical work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; shifts may vary by assignment. Rarely, additional hours may be necessary to respond to workload needs, which may include evenings and weekends.
