Construction And Maintenance Of County Jail Facilities

Under limited supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty in the construction, maintenance, and repair of County Jail facilities; performs related work as assigned.

Typical duties include :

• Installs, maintains, repairs, and performs system checks on facility sub-systems
• Operates a variety of tools and equipment
• Performs inspections according to departmental schedule and recommends repairs, upgrades, and / or replacements
• Prepares and maintains records and reports
• May assist with facility projects and purchasing
• Ensures that facilities are adequately maintained to meet users' needs
• May act as lead worker

Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to : driving; working with and around other employees; vision acuity (near & far) to perform daily work tasks; hearing and speech for communicating with co-workers about work directives; finger dexterity for threading nuts and bolts; environmental factors include working outside in all weather conditions, also dealing with noise and vibration being in a vehicle.
