This position requires you to maintain internet service and a mobile phone with voice and data plans to be used when required for work.

Purpose

Provide clerical and technical support to maintain inventory and stock records. Responsible for purchasing parts, equipment, materials, and supplies, computing unit costs, and supervising warehouse operations. Maintain records of items on hand, manage packing and shipping, and track stock distribution. Oversee control records, review and order supplies as needed, and plan stock arrangement to prevent spoilage. Assist or supervise special orders, receiving, storing, issuing stock, and inventory counts. May review item specs and prices or prepare reports as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with ordering replacement stock or special items. Checks requisitions for completeness and proper authorization. Supervises and assists with preparation of outgoing shipments. Performs related duties as required.
  • May assist in the inventory of supplies store in the store unit. May make minor repairs to equipment. May supervise and assist with assembly of stock items shipped unassembled. May prepare reports of stock items issued to each unit and cost of stock items used on special jobs.
  • Receives, inspects and records shipments of supplies.
  • Reports any damage or shortages. Stores in proper storage areas. Identifies and tags property. Maintains files of inventory stock. Maintains proper stock levels.
  • Responsible for receiving, checking, marking, storing and issuing supplies, and for maintaining stock records and preparing reports. Driving university owned vehicles to job sites will be required for this position. Maintain acceptable driver rating as established in Policy UTS157.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduation, GED or vocational school.
  • Three years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing and accounting for property in a stores unit.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • More than five years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in a Stores unit.
  • Driving Required

    This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. The driving record will be evaluated to determine eligibility to drive a university owned vehicle.

    Salary Range

    $41,760.00 + depending on qualifications

    Employment Eligibility :

    Retirement Plan Eligibility :

    The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
