For more information about the Department of Biology see : Department of Biology at California State University Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Microbiology or Molecular and Cellular Biology at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The successful candidate will teach Cell and Tissue Culture with Lab (BIOL 477 / L); they may also teach Immunology with Serology Lab (BIOL 485 / L) Medical Microbiology and Lab (BIOL 410 / L) introductory and core courses for biology majors (e.g. BIOL 107 BIOL 315 BIOL 380) and a graduate-level seminar course in the candidates specialty. The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential to develop an independent externally funded research program that actively involves graduate and undergraduate students in an interdisciplinary area with emphasis on immunology virology microbiology and / or cancer.
In addition to teaching the position requires weekly office hours attending faculty meetings participation in assessment of student learning and service to the department college and university. The successful candidate may be required to teach on weekdays evenings weekends and / or online and will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he / she / they is / are housed for recommending tenure and promotion.
