How You'll Make an Impact
Professional experience in Senior Living Industry
Held position as LPN / RN and / or Social Worker with experience in senior living industry i.e. nursing home, assisted living and skilled assisted living facilities
Be accessible to clients 24 / 7 on as need basis
Work remotely with quarterly in-office loss control department meetings, in addition to required mandatory in office meetings
The consultant goal of 65 days annually on-site services for clients. This will require 6-10 days a month on-site visits for loss control services
Consultants must be able to travel to cities in the state of Alabama
Consultants may have periodic on-site travel out of state to provide loss controls for clients
The consultant will conduct and / or assist co-workers with on-site Mock Surveys requested by clients
Consultant will complete a comprehensive 2-day risk assessment every other year to assess areas related to resident's care, life safety process and healthcare compliance for state and federal regulations as it related to nursing home / ALF / SCALF. A written report to be completed and emailed to the clients within 7-10 days
Consultant will conduct lectures on educational opportunities for clients
Develop resource tools to assist clients with gathering data and / or to assist with QAPI activities
Provide input for website updates related to CMS guideline changes and / or state guideline changes related to healthcare affecting the senior living industry
The consultant will complete the required renewal reports and submit them to Underwriting and Producers 60 days prior to client's policy renewal
Consultant to monitor and analysis Total Quality Improvement reports for areas flagging above the threshold to provide recommendations to clients
Attend requested facility / corporate QAPI meetings as an AD HOC member to provide input on risk assessment reports / Mock Surveys completed by the consultant
Maintain confidentiality of health information reviewed during on-site visits and QAPI reports generated for clients
Develop PowerPoints for educational opportunities for clients
Consultant will provide communications with claim department related to facility / company reportable incidents
The consultant will develop a Whitepaper article annually related to current senior living industry highlights related to healthcare challenges i.e., CMS updates, state regulation updates, and areas identified during facilities' risk assessment
The consultant will review requests from the claim department on reportable incidents to provide input
The consultant will be given additional assignments by the department manager related to risk management services
About You
Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience; 5 years' related experience in Senior Living Industry
Ability to obtain appropriate licenses i.e., nursing and / or social worker in state of Alabama and / or compact nursing license
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Moderate travel required, including some overnight travel
Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and work outside or normal business hours as required
Ability to perform work on varied customer properties; entails negotiating non-public access areas, climbing, lifting, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time
Preferred : LPN / RN licensed and / or Social Worker Bachelor's Degree
Behaviors : Interfaces effectively with management, clients, account teams and partners. Complies with all company policies and procedures, pro-actively protecting confidentiality of client and company information. Understands industry trends and governmental regulations. Efficiently organizes work and manages time in order to meet deadlines. Exercises discretion in confidential matters and uses independent judgment.
