Position :
The City of Sharonville is actively recruiting a Security Supervisor to support operations at the Sharonville Convention Center. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Operations, the Security Supervisor will perform a wide variety of security and facility management support functions. Primary responsibilities include serving as the facility’s security liaison officer; performing entry screenings and checkpoint controls; coordinating deliveries; responding to emergencies; operating security systems; and implementing security tools, policies and methodologies affecting security operations. Candidates must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Qualified candidates should have excellent customer service and communication skills; resiliency to deal with conflict; the ability to de-escalate situations and work well with all levels of the general public.

The City of Sharonville is conveniently located 15 miles north of downtown Cincinnati, situated off interstates 75 and 275 and nestled in both Hamilton and Butler Counties. Requirements :
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in law enforcement, security management, and / or a similar discipline.
- At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a law enforcement or a security setting.
- A combination of additional education or professional experience and training may be considered.
Salary and Benefits :
The compensation package includes an hourly range of $20.00 to $25.00 commensurate with education and experience. QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in Law Enforcement, Security Management or a related field, andThree (3) years of progressively responsible security experience;Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
Valid Driver’s license; must maintain insurability as set forth by the City’s motor vehicle liability insurance requirements.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for purposes of 42 USC 12101) :
Serves as the Sharonville Convention Center’s Security Supervisor and liaison officer.Ensures a reliable, safe and secure environment for event operations;Establishes and maintains working relationships with City staff, Convention Center contracted staff, local public safety agencies, vendors, contractors, and customers to support various security needs;Performs point of entry screening and checkpoint control, including searching persons and property;Serves as the facility’s lead delivery coordinator; accepting and distributing incoming packages and large deliveries through USPS and other carriers; this includes coordination of food and beverage deliveries, and other large building deliveries from various event vendors;Responds to incidents and emergencies;Operates electronic and physical security systems and completes required reports;Maintains security by reviewing logs, and implementing various security tools, policies, and methodologies;Assists in developing and implementing backup policies and procedures; perform and monitor system backups;Ensures event schedules, security details, and move in / move-out requirements are communicated in writing to all appropriate parties; this includes that event requirements are regularly communicated to contracted guards and EMT providers;Maintains current knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures affecting security operations;Works in tandem with the Assistant Director of Operations to analyze ongoing security needs and to plan, coordinate and execute solutions; andAdheres to all established policies and procedures and works closely with Assistant Director of Operations to establish and implement additional security policies and standards.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Attends meetings, seminars, and training sessions.Performs other related duties as required.Abides by the Standards of Conduct as defined by City Administration.MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE CHARACTERISTICS :

Occasionally lift up to 50lbs to move equipment.Note : In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered to be medium work.
