Certified Medical Assistant

As we grow, we are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to help support our clinical operations and contribute to the overall success of our practice.
Position Overview
The Certified Medical Assistant will perform a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. The role will include responsibilities such as patient registration, scheduling appointments, assisting with paperwork, rooming patients, returning normal lab results, preparing patient referrals, surgery scheduling and accompanying paperwork, maintaining inventory of medical supplies, ensuring the clinic remains presentable, and making sure patients feel comfortable, welcomed, and safe throughout their visit.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival and ensure they are properly registered.
- Answer phone calls as they come in.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and ensure timely check-in / check-out.
- Prepare charts for upcoming patient visits.
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms between patients including preparation for the next appointment with fresh sheets and making sure necessary supplies and equipment are stocked for each patient.
- Room patients, take basic vitals, enter information into Eclinicalworks and prepare them for their appointment with the provider.
- Assist with filling out patient forms and necessary paperwork.
- Draw blood and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Assist with prescriptions and refill requests under the direction of the doctor.
- Assist physicians during patient exams and minor procedures.
- Return normal lab results to patients and provide further instructions when applicable.
- Educate patients on treatments, care, and preventive measures.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies, notifying the Practice Manager when replenishment is needed.
- Keep the office and patient areas clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
- Address patient inquiries and ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and valued.
- Other duties as assigned to assist with patient care and the smooth operation of the clinic.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Medical Assistant CertificationExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Professional appearance and demeanor.Basic knowledge of medical office operations (prior experience in a medical office setting preferred).A compassionate and patient-focused approach.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Compensation
Starting Pay : $20-23.00 per hour
Medical Benefits, Personal Time Off and Student Loan Repayment may be negotiated as part of the overall compensation package offered. Sick leave is accrued at the rate of 1 hour.
