TEKsystems is seeking Data Center Fiber Technicians for our client in TX
Per Diem : $150 / day + Travel costs to Texas are covered.
Shift : 7am - 7pm or 7pm - 7am 3 weeks on / 1 week off or 6 days on / 2 days off
Skills Required :
1) Previous Data Center experience is preferred
2) Must have 1-5+ years of experience splicing ribbon fiber
Job Description
Level II
- Performs mid-level splicing functions for aerial, underground, and ISP cable routing on various projects
- Advanced ability to read and interpret construction prints, drawings, and splice matrixes to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled
- Ability to determine equipment needs, cable route, cable direction, safety best practices, and perform splicing functions within a live customer facility
- Independently and safely performs mid-sheath cable entry using proper tools
- Performs mid-level single and / or ribbon splices with the understanding large cable count numbering
- Ability to read / process test results and problem solve basic issues identified during troubleshooting
- Proficient in mid-level OTDR and power meter testing
- Ability to install and / or research installation procedures for all splice enclosures
- Performs basic cable relocations and hot cuts while maintaining cable organization
- Effectively communicates with internal (training peers) and external stakeholders (customers, subcontractors, etc.), addressing issues as they arise and offering customer-centric solutions
- Responds timely to critical situations and emergency outages with an appropriate level of urgency
- Maintains full understanding of safety risks while working in a safety sensitive position, adhering to all safety requirements and standards
- Performs other duties as assigned by leadership
Level III
Performs complex splicing projects for both new and existing customers with little to no directionIndependently troubleshoots customer networks and reads / processes test results to provide customer deliverablesCreates Smart Sheets and Excel trackers to accurately track project schedules and progressIndependently reads / interprets prints and create work assignments for other TechniciansAccurately collects all pertinent information from pre-job inspections and customer field meetingsSupports operational leadership with the management of on-site project elements such as time, materials, documentation, production updates, tool, and equipmentProfessionally interacts with and communicate with external vendors, customers, subcontractors, and internal leadership to ensure accurate information is disseminated to all partiesProactively identifies and escalates project and personnel issues to operational leadership where appropriateCreates training plans and conduct training for other Technicians and serve as a leader in the field driving quality, efficiency, production, and safetyServes as an ADB Culture Champion leading, driving, and participating in ADB culture pillar eventsUtilizes expert-level splicing skills to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements across ADB’s Splicing groupPossesses advanced understanding of all safety risks while working in a safety sensitive position, adhering to all safety requirements and standardsPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $40.00 / hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Jackson,MS.
