Equipment Operator - Parks

The City of Beloit is now accepting applications for the Equipment Operator- Parks position in the Parks and Recreation Division of the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for performing, as an individual or as a member of a team, the provision of grounds maintenance within city parks, green spaces, and / or city-owned property and facilities. Under supervision, performs skilled manual labor including mowing, trimming, tree trimming / removal, stump removal, landscaping, and ballfield prep and repair. This position works Monday through Thursday from 6 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
• Class B Commercial Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire
• Certification in FEMA IS-100 and FEMA IS-700 or ability to obtain within six months of hire
• A minimum of one (1) year of responsible work experience, with experience in mowing, grounds maintenance, landscaping, construction, tree pruning and related tree-care activities, including manual and semi-skilled work
• Other combinations of training and / or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered.
